Tehran

Tehran is the capital of Iran and Tehran Province. With a population of around 8.4 million in the city  , Tehran is Iran’s largest city, the largest city in Western Asia and one of the largest three cities in the Middle East (along with Istanbul and Cairo).

Tehran has been the subject of mass migration of people from all over Iran up until the present. The city is home to many historic mosques as well as several churches, synagogues and Zoroastrian fire temples. However, modern structures, notably Azadi Tower and the Milad Tower, have come to symbolize the city. Tehran is ranked 29th in the world by the population of its metropolitan area.

Tehran  is situated at the foot of the towering Alborz mountain rang. Tehran is a cosmopolitan city, with great museums, parks, restaurants, warm friendly people. It deserves at least a few days of your Iranian itinerary.

Tehran Altitude between 1 ,200 and 1 ,700 meters. Mehrabad Airport to the west of city. Railway: European link through Tabriz and Istanbul , internal lines to Mashhad , Yazd and Khoramshahr. Regular coach services in all directions.

Tehran is the mirror of Iran. Those who inhabit this young metropolis have come from around the country with different beliefs, cultures, languages and life styles and live in a national and international context together. It can be noted that modern societies take form in large cities, and therefore, Iran’s future is being formed in Tehran.

Although the City of Tehran can be similar to Los Angeles or Shanghai in terms of urban planning, size, variety, internal dynamics and economic role, it cannot be understood without its territorial and cultural characteristic
